This notice covers only the waitlist on this website. A full privacy policy for the Apatheia app will replace it before launch.
Who we are
Apatheia is run by Alastair Lloyd, a sole trader based in the UK. For anything about your data, email support@getapatheia.com.
What we collect
- Your email address.
- A record that you agreed to hear from us: when you signed up and when you confirmed your email, along with the IP address used. Our email provider keeps this as proof of consent.
- Whether you open our emails or click their links. Our email provider records this automatically, and we can’t switch it off. We only look at it in aggregate, to see whether our emails are useful, never to profile you. If you’d rather it wasn’t recorded, you can block images in your email app or unsubscribe.
That’s all. We don’t ask for your name, we don’t use tracking cookies or analytics on this website, and we don’t build a profile of you.
Confirming your email
After you sign up, we send you one email asking you to confirm. You’re only added to the list once you click the link in it. If you don’t, we won’t email you again.
Why we collect it
To email you when Apatheia launches and, occasionally, with product updates before and around launch. We rely on your consent, which you give by submitting the form and then confirming through the link in our email. You can withdraw it at any time.
We will never sell your email address or share it with anyone for their own marketing.

Both act only on our instructions. The form on this website sends your email address straight to Kit. Nothing is stored on the website itself, and the list can’t be viewed from it.
Kit is based in the United States, so your email address is stored there. Kit is certified under the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, which is the legal safeguard for data transferred from the UK.
How long we keep it
We keep your email address for as long as you stay subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we stop emailing you and keep only the minimum needed to make sure you aren’t emailed again. If you sign up but never confirm, we delete your address within 30 days.
Unsubscribing and removal
Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link, and one click unsubscribes you. You can also email support@getapatheia.com at any time and we’ll remove you from the list, usually within a few days.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or withdraw your consent. Email support@getapatheia.com. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk (opens in a new tab)), or to your local data protection authority if you live outside the UK.
Changes
If we change this notice, we’ll update the date at the top. If the change affects how we use your email, we’ll tell you before it takes effect.
